Taking a bit of a break today to enjoy what is left of the fall weather. Pups got all dirty and wet but ball playing was well worth the baths they got when we came home.
Tomorrow my students go into SL to complete their virtual team building experience. I have to admit that I am a bit nervous – their are so many things that can go wrong and I wonder about there perspective regarding using a virtual world as a class activity. I am confident that we have rounded up a stellar list of guest speakers including Larry Pixel, Barraca Rhodes, VX Shaw and (hopefully) Aura Lily. We have thought up a “cover story” in which the students have to work in teams to complete a PR piece on SL. Not too far fetched, Text 100 has created a wonderful machinima on working in SL.
Finally, I completed my piece for slatenight on the Starax exhibit that was held on the NMC Campus. I was hoping to get a couple of interview but ran out of time but I did have time to create a set of images of his work – visit my Flickr set for Starax to see more. Also be sure to read the upcoming slatenight issue – lots of very interesting articles.
